The short answer

What is Vaginal Rejuvenation With HIFU?

HIFU uses focused ultrasound to create controlled thermal or mechanical effects in tissue. “Vaginal rejuvenation” is a marketing term, not a single diagnosis. Symptoms such as laxity, discomfort with intercourse or urinary leakage deserve a clinical evaluation because causes and appropriate treatments differ.

Concerns it may address

  • A feeling of vaginal laxity after childbirth or aging
  • Sexual-wellness concerns that warrant careful medical discussion
  • Urinary leakage, which should be classified before treatment
  • Patients seeking non-surgical options with realistic expectations
Candidacy

Who may—or may not—be a candidate

Who may be considered

Candidacy depends on pelvic symptoms, examination, childbirth and surgical history, menopause status, infection risk, prolapse, urinary diagnosis and the exact device’s cleared indications. Some patients are better served by pelvic-floor therapy, medication or gynecologic/urogynecologic care.

When treatment may not be appropriate

Treatment should not proceed with pregnancy, active infection, unexplained bleeding, suspected malignancy, significant prolapse, implanted devices or anatomy incompatible with the system. The exact device labeling controls; a consultation does not guarantee treatment.

Your visit

What happens during treatment

Evaluate

A clinician reviews symptoms and screens for infection, prolapse, genitourinary syndrome of menopause and type of urinary leakage.

Plan & treat

The device, regulatory status, evidence, alternatives and limitations are discussed. An in-person pelvic assessment may be required.

Review & follow up

If appropriate and consented, focused ultrasound is delivered according to device protocol. Follow-up evaluates symptoms—not only appearance.

Informed choice

Important risks, limitations and alternatives

Risks & limitations

Potential risks include pain, burns or thermal injury, bleeding, infection, altered sensation, scarring, pain with intercourse and failure to improve. Evidence and FDA status vary by device and claimed indication. Identity Aesthetics does not promise “mind-boggling” tightening or cure of urinary incontinence.

Alternatives to discuss

  • Pelvic-floor physical therapy
  • Bladder training, weight management or medication when indicated
  • Local or systemic menopause treatment when genitourinary syndrome is diagnosed
  • Gynecology or urogynecology evaluation, pessary or surgery for appropriate conditions
Clinical judgment

Why provider experience matters

Urinary leakage and sexual discomfort have multiple causes. Experienced medical evaluation prevents a cosmetic device from substituting for diagnosis and helps identify red flags, realistic endpoints and the need for referral.

Identity Aesthetics approach

  • Diagnosis and anatomy before a product or device
  • Conservative planning with candid limitations
  • Licensed-provider supervision and complication readiness
  • In-office and telehealth boundaries stated clearly
Access & cost

In-office versus telehealth

Evaluation and any HIFU procedure are in-office. Telehealth may be used for initial history or education, but pelvic examination and treatment cannot be performed remotely.

Pricing: Consultation required. Pricing and number of sessions depend on examination, device protocol and whether referral is more appropriate.

Common questions

Vaginal Rejuvenation With HIFU FAQ

Will HIFU cure urinary leakage?
No cure can be promised. Stress, urge and mixed incontinence have different causes and established treatment pathways; evaluation comes first.
Is this the same as pelvic-floor therapy?
No. Pelvic-floor therapy is a rehabilitation approach; HIFU is an energy-based procedure. One does not automatically replace the other.
Is vaginal rejuvenation FDA approved?
FDA status applies to a specific device and indication—not to the broad marketing phrase. Ask which device is used and whether the proposed use matches its cleared labeling.
