The short answer

What is Evolysse™?

Evolysse™ is an FDA-approved hyaluronic-acid dermal filler family that includes Smooth and Form. It may be selected to restore or refine facial volume when the product’s approved indication, tissue characteristics and your anatomy align. FDA approval covers dermal and subdermal injection for moderate-to-severe dynamic facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, in adults age 22 and older.

Concerns it may address

  • Moderate-to-severe dynamic facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds
  • Support or refinement where the selected product’s firmness and indication fit
  • Patients seeking a hyaluronic-acid option with an individualized plan
Candidacy

Who may—or may not—be a candidate

Who may be considered

Adults with moderate-to-severe dynamic facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, who want a hyaluronic-acid option. Evolysse is FDA-approved for dermal and subdermal injection in adults aged 22 and over. As a newer product family it has a shorter real-world track record than the longest-established gels, which is a reasonable thing to weigh rather than something to talk you out of.

When treatment may not be appropriate

Treatment may be postponed for active skin or dental infection, inflammation near the treatment area, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or uncontrolled medical conditions. Severe allergies, bleeding risk, immune-modifying medicines, prior filler and planned dental work must be discussed. Product-specific contraindications apply.

What happens during treatment

Confirm the indication

The provider checks that what you want treated matches what the selected Evolysse product is approved for — dynamic wrinkles and folds — and discusses the alternatives honestly, including established products.

Place by depth

Approval covers dermal and subdermal injection. Gel is placed at the depth the area calls for, in small amounts, reassessing as it goes.

Review and follow up

The area is reassessed for symmetry and circulation, with written aftercare and urgent warning signs. Durability varies by product, area and patient, so maintenance is planned individually.

Informed choice

Important risks, limitations and alternatives

Risks & limitations

Common effects include swelling, tenderness, bruising, redness, firmness, lumps or asymmetry. Rare injection into a blood vessel can cause skin injury, scarring, stroke, vision changes or blindness. Delayed inflammation, infection, nodules and product migration can occur, and some complications may be permanent. Evolysse is a hyaluronic-acid gel, so hyaluronidase can dissolve it if that becomes necessary. Its clinical durability varies by product and by patient, and anyone quoting you a fixed number of months is guessing.

Alternatives to discuss

  • No treatment or a staged observation plan
  • A different filler selected for the tissue and approved treatment area
  • A collagen biostimulator such as Sculptra or Radiesse when appropriate
  • Neurotoxin, laser, surgery or another modality when filler does not address the underlying concern
Clinical judgment

Why provider experience matters

Safe filler treatment depends on detailed knowledge of facial vessels, tissue planes and product behavior. Experienced providers use conservative planning, maintain an emergency protocol and know when not to inject—or when referral or surgery is the better option.

Identity Aesthetics approach

  • Diagnosis and anatomy before a product or device
  • Conservative planning with candid limitations
  • Licensed-provider supervision and complication readiness
  • In-office and telehealth boundaries stated clearly
Access & cost

In-office versus telehealth

Consultation and treatment are in-office. Telehealth may be used for general education, but product selection and injections require an in-person examination.

Pricing: Consultation required. Cost depends on product, treatment area, amount and whether a staged plan is safest. Exact pricing is confirmed before treatment.

Common questions

Evolysse™ FAQ

Is filler reversible?
Many hyaluronic-acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, but reversal is a medical treatment with its own risks and may not restore the exact pre-treatment appearance. Non-HA fillers are not dissolved the same way.
How much filler will I need?
There is no safe universal amount. Your anatomy, product, area, previous filler and desired endpoint determine whether treatment is conservative, staged or not recommended.
What symptoms are urgent?
Severe or unusual pain, blanching or dusky skin, a cool area, vision change, weakness, severe headache or stroke-like symptoms require immediate medical attention.
